Real Food Is Foundational
For as long as I can remember, at least the past decade or two, any person on television concerned with eating healthy or being particular about what goes in his or her mouth was mocked and ridiculed. The typical rolling of the eyes and smirking behind one’s napkin while at the table labeled such people as obsessive, compulsive, or fanatical. And I must admit, growing up with the traditional SAD (Standard American Diet) diet, I probably did my fair share of the rolling of the eyes. That is until I got sick. Very sick. So sick that everything I ate made me much worse.
I got to the point that I did not want to eat anything. I just wanted to feel better, and food was not helping move me in that direction. How could this be? I cannot stay alive unless I eat. Thankfully, I had a husband that understood that and went out of his way to make sure I ate and was also willing to make this journey with me and eat what I ate. But what about the food was making us sick?
In our quest to find out, we became some of those obsessed fanatics. We tried many, many diets. They told me I might have MS. So, we tried the MS diet – very low fat. We tried gluten free – high arsenic, little nutrition. No grains – No Comfort, Always Hungry diet. Vegetarian, vegan – no B-12. Fruit fear – no seasonal variety. And many more . . . What was the conclusion? I needed healthy fats. I NEEDED meat! I needed vitamins and minerals from fruits and vegetables. I needed food and comfort to survive. Because of doctors, practitioners, and media, I really became obsessed with the notion that the food was making me ill. I began to feel the grind of my backside bones on the piano bench as I increasingly lost weight.
Ten years later, I am still here, so we figured a few things out. It took us a while, and we are still learning. But we now know some of the truth based on our own experiences with food. The food was contributing to my health woes, but not directly. It is what has happened to our food that was making us sick.
My daughter always joked that Jesus was the Bread of Life, not the salad of life. We loved bread! But as we began to make our own bread from organic, ancient grains, my stomach rejoiced! It was not the gluten for me, it was the glyphosate (aka Round-Up). Healthy, grass-fed organic beef from cows that were not given hormones or antibiotics made me filled and contented. No more shots of synthetic B-12. And we brought back the butter, lard, and other healthy, unadulterated fats. Organic of course. No more canola pesticide oil. And with all these things we brought back taste, aroma, and flavor. We brought back smiles and sighs as we ate our food.
This transition for our family did not take place overnight. But the more we transitioned to organic food, the more our taste buds came alive, and the more our gut and brain health began to return. No more regrets after a big meal or even a healthy dessert. No more all-night agony, or early morning fatigue from last night’s meal. (Disclaimer here: it does take a great deal of time and patience to restore a lifetime of abuse detoxing from pesticides, chemicals, and sugar. Not to mention antibiotics. And lyme disease makes that even more difficult. My gut health is taking much longer to heal than my daughter’s.) But, in fact, we now can’t even fathom eating 90% of what is in a grocery store. Our food is amazing, and 100% home grown or organic sourced. It is a lie that healthy food tastes bad - a lie that appetite stimulants, preservatives, and flavor enhancers have caused your body to believe. The minute you begin to peel off those toxins and toxicants that you have been ingesting for years, you will start to uncover the lies as we did.
But most important of all, the future of our children, not to mention our planet depends on our uncovering those lies. Without an understanding of the marketing tactics, we have been subjected to with often the sole purpose of profit, most of us cannot fathom the evil agenda behind the lies. Our food has been tainted, compromised, altered, faked, and literally POISONED! And that is one of the looming reasons many of us are ill, chronically ill. The statistics are staggering.

A shout out to the new MDs, Mothers, Doctors, and Scientists: Dr. Michelle Perro, Dr. Stephanie Seneff, Zen Honeycut, and Alexis Baden-Mayer (https://www.youtube.com/@thenewmds).
These three super sleuths investigated common toxic exposures, widespread health disorders and the medical literature until they identified a central factor in what’s making our children sick. Check out their episode on the study done of the nation’s school lunch program. It will stun you. Or it should.
It is my message to you from my own sad experience, that no protocol or treatment will get you to the finish line of healing without a solid foundation of good, clean, organic food. The ladies cited above teach this same principle. Without a knowledge of the truth about what has really happened to our food, no one move from the darkness of chronic illness into the light.
We moved to the country in the quest to grow our own food. It has changed our own health dramatically. But we realize that not everyone can do what we did. This is just our story. But there are many ways to improve your foundational health by learning to eat as clean and organic as you can and to find local sources that understand the dilemmas we are facing in our food supply.
Jesus wants us to make a covenant with life, not death. He wants us to step into the light and see the truth, most especially about Him, but also about what has brought darkness and death into our lives. He wants us to live in the light of truth. I followed the flesh for too long. Now I am the watchman on the tower. Most of what I learned about health and nutrition was not correct. It was not the truth. I plead with you to pull back the curtains of our censored websites and media, and dig deep to find the truth about life and health.
"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."
